Bowral Dressage Club was formed in 1983 by a small group of dressage enthusiasts who wanted to run competitions in Bowral.

It began as part of the Southern Highlands Equestrian Group, but later became Bowral Dressage Club and was incorporated in 1985. Bowral Dressage Club moved to 'Wyeera' Bong Bong Race Club Grounds, Kangaloon Road, Bowral on October 10th 2004. Bong Bong Picnic Race Club allocated an area for the BDC to develop and to make this venue the permanent home ground for the club. The venue has 5 sand competition arenas plus a large sand warm up arena, all of which are irrigated.  The Southern Highlands is home to many FEI riders and trainers who proudly call BDC their local club.
